1:18 pm	giving cmj a miss/ the shins by the time I'd secured time off work & flight possibilites, the amazing CMJ Friday night subpop showcase had been long sold out (I know there are lots of other great shows this week but you know when you have your heart set on something? and tickets on craig's list are scarce & upwards of $150?) & every bit of affordable nyc accomodations fully booked ... maybe next year (& maybe earlier in the fall? november is way too cold for this sort of thing) ... and because I won't be seeing the shins this year: wincing the night away (expires soon, will reupload if anyone needs it) shins live also this week in nyc ( Colin Meloy plays solo, older demographic excluded ) so I guess it's off to buy a washing machine ... 6:46 pm	stuff I need to put somewhere serial slingshot lp share post (so much amazingness here, links good for a little while longer) the torture garden (mp3 blog, surprisingly not goth) mountain goats page john vanderslice, mp3's after seeing an amazing performance at pitchfork, am completely in love with the mountain goats (the singalong version of "no children" was the bitterest & loveliest thing I've heard in forever) ... am saddened to realize that said newfound love probably has something to do with the new asymmetrical haircut ...
